Twitter enables a new feature. Now you can support your favorite personalities with bitcoin! Twitter recently enabled "Tipping", a feature that allows people to support their favorite personalities and posts with bitcoin.
Cryptocurrency as a method of payment
Twitter turns on the ability to request bitcoin tips through its app, making it the first major social network to support the use of cryptocurrency as a method of payment. The company also plans to let users attach their crypto wallets and verify ownership of the NFT they tweet. In addition to bitcoin, Twitter will allow users to connect to their profiles with nine traditional payment providers, including the Venmo and Cash App, to receive tips. Bitcoin tips are facilitated by Strike, a bitcoin wallet application. Twitter notifies someone when they receive a bitcoin tip via Strike, allowing them to quickly reply to the bettor for thanks. Twitter will also generate invoices for authors so they can follow the tips they receive.
Connect your crypto wallet
“Bitcoin represents one of the best solutions for enabling people to transact in underbanked regions of the world”, Esther Crawford, Twitter’s product lead for creator monetization, said Thursday during a call with reporters. The company also plans to support authentication for NFT by allowing people to attach their crypto wallets. "NFT verification will take the form of a badge that will be displayed on the profile pictures and will mark the NFT owner as authentic," a company spokesman said. NFTs have recently grown in popularity as a way to buy and trade digital art on Ethereum.
